Algae Removal Bundle User Guide
Before You Begin
- Ensure that you have all the required products from the Algae Removal Bundle kit, including Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder, Chlorine & Algae Bombs or PureOx Powder, and a pool test kit.
- Read and understand all the instructions and warnings on the product labels before use.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection, when handling pool chemicals.
- Always store pool chemicals in a cool, dry, and secure place out of the reach of children and pets.
Instructions
Step 1: Balance Pool pH
Use a pool test kit to check the pH level of your pool water. The ideal pH level should be 7.2. If the pH is not within this range, adjust it using Muriatic or Dry Acid according to the product label instructions until it reaches the recommended range.
Step 2: Clean Filters and Skimmers
Clean your pool filters, skimmers, and pump basket thoroughly to remove any debris or contaminants.
Step 3: Add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder
Add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder to the pump basket. Ensure the basket is 3/4 full.
Step 4: Shock the Pool
Use Chlorine & Algae Bombs or PureOx Powder to shock your pool according to the recommended dosage on the product label.
Step 5: Turn on the Pump
Turn on the pump and run it for 30 minutes. Ensure that the filter valve setting is to recirculation. If you do not have a filter valve, see if your piping allows you to bypass the filter.
Step 6: Leave the Pool Alone
Turn off the pump and leave the pool undisturbed for 8 hours.
Step 7: Check for Algae Settling
Check if the algae has settled to the bottom of the pool. Take a clear glass and see the water condition. If the water is clear in the glass, the algae has settled.
Use a pool test kit to check the pH level of your pool water. The ideal pH level should be 7.2. If the pH is not within this range, adjust it using Muriatic or Dry Acid according to the product label instructions until it reaches the recommended range.
Step 2: Clean Filters and Skimmers

Step 3: Add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder
Add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder to the pump basket. Ensure the basket is 3/4 full.
Step 4: Shock the Pool
Use Chlorine & Algae Bombs or PureOx Powder to shock your pool according to the recommended dosage on the product label.
- Chlorine shock will require 70g per 1000 liters.
- One Algae Bomb 20g Tablet (Blue) can treat a 10,000 liter pool.
- One kg of PureOx Powder can treat a 300,000 liter pool.
Step 5: Turn on the Pump
Turn on the pump and run it for 30 minutes. Ensure that the filter valve setting is to recirculation. If you do not have a filter valve, see if your piping allows you to bypass the filter.
Step 6: Leave the Pool Alone
Turn off the pump and leave the pool undisturbed for 8 hours.
Step 7: Check for Algae Settling
Check if the algae has settled to the bottom of the pool. Take a clear glass and see the water condition. If the water is clear in the glass, the algae has settled.
Step 8: Vacuum the Pool Slowly
Vacuum the pool to remove all the algae. Vacuum to drain and it's okay to lose water.
Step 9: Backwash the Sand Filter
If you have a sand filter, backwash it once the vacuuming is complete.
Step 10: Refill the Pool
Fill the water in the pool that was lost during the vacuuming process.
Step 11: Balance the Pool
Use your pool test kit to balance the chlorine and pH levels of the pool water to the recommended range.
Step 12: Add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder Again
If the powder in the pump basket is gone, add Clear-Up Pool Clarifying Powder to the pump basket again. Ensure it's 3/4 full.
Step 13: Run the Filter
Turn on the filter and run it for 8 hours.
Step 14: Enjoy Your Pool You can now swim.
Ensure the chlorine level is in the recommended range.
Note: If the algae is severe, repeat steps 1 to 12, until the algae is completely gone.
