We round up to the next whole kilogram, because Spark is supplied in 1 kg units and a slight over-dose is harmless — it simply gives no extra benefit. Being short, on the other hand, means the concentration never reaches the level that holds algae off.
Why the quantity matters more than anything else
Spark works by holding your pool water at a chemistry where algae cannot establish. That effect depends on concentration. At the right dose it holds for up to twelve months; below it, the water drifts back toward the conditions algae likes, and the product gets blamed for something the quantity caused.
This is also why topping up matters. Spark stays dissolved in the water, so water you lose to splash-out, backwashing or draining takes Spark with it. If you replace a meaningful volume, run the calculator again on just the replaced volume and top up accordingly.
