1  ·  Choose your industry

The design brief is matched to your sector’s significant effluent parameters under DAO 2016-08 Table 8. Enter your design flow and operating hours and the brief will size every stage by hydraulic retention time.

What is in the brief

Basis of design

Your PSIC classification, the significant parameters DENR monitors for your sector, and the discharge basis.

Influent design basis

The wastewater strength the plant is engineered against — flow pattern, organic load, nutrients, solids.

Target effluent quality

The Class B / SB envelope, parameter by parameter, with the process step that delivers each one.

Process flow diagram

The full liquid treatment line and the sludge line, drawn as a labelled process flow.

Retention time and volumes

Hydraulic retention time for every stage, and the indicative working volume each one needs at your flow.

Equipment list

Every major item in the plant, described by function and duty.

Water reuse

Where the treated water can be put back to work on your site, and what has to be checked first.

Not included: tank dimensions, equipment brands and pricing. The brief gives working volumes, not lengths, widths, depths or chamber layouts — those follow a site inspection and your actual wastewater analysis, at which point a full quotation is issued.

How these designs are built

Every brief on this page comes from a treatment plant IWSI has already engineered — not from a catalogue.

Compliance first

Each design carries the full nutrient, disinfection and polishing train needed to hold the Class B / SB envelope, which is stricter than the Class C basis most Philippine inland sites are permitted against. A design that clears B / SB clears C.

Sized, not guessed

Retention times come from delivered IWSI plants and scale with wastewater strength — a fish market carries far longer aeration than an office tower, and a plant running one shift a day needs a far larger equalisation stage.

Reuse built in

Filtration, carbon and a second disinfection barrier are carried in every train, so the treated water is fit for toilet flushing, irrigation and washdown rather than only fit to discharge.

Serviceable by design

Continuous-flow fixed-film biology, fewer critical moving parts, straightforward troubleshooting and a practical sludge plan. Built to run reliably after turnover.

Design briefs are preliminary and issued for planning purposes. Retention times and working volumes are indicative and are confirmed against actual influent laboratory analysis, site survey and the approved civil design. Final effluent design must be confirmed against the applicable DENR EMB Region, LLDA, water utility, LGU or site-specific discharge requirement before implementation.
